If you normalize the audio it'll gte rid of that crackle. You can do it in one step with audacity.

Switching areas is kinda annoying to click through. Why not have a smaller map with everything already there but the third area is blacked out until unlocked.

As for the sound add buttons to play and stop music. Start the music muted that way players can choose music if they want it.

The controls are so loose that it would take a ton of playing to get use to. Good plan but it effects the fun.

You aren't showing a wide range. What you do have is good but they all seem kind of negative. It would be much better if you showed a few positive emotion and maybe a Narration from a kids book to cover the other end of the spectrum. A few character voices impress most people too, after all this is what people usually look for.
